After four Student Government (SG) senators left the SG at the end of last semester, SG managed to fill three of those seats withcandidates having the greatest number of votes in the Fall 2009 SG elections. Students will have to elect one senator to fill the remaining seat because the remaining candidates who ran in Fall 2009 refused to join the SG. Three students submitted their candidacy for the Senate.

Kalina Gorinova

Gorinova is a senior majoring in Business Administration and doing a minor in Journalism and Mass Communication. "I have always wanted to apply for a SG senator place but prior to this semester I was not able to, due to the fact that I was part of a few organizations at the university and outside of it and I did not want to submit my application, knowing that I will not be able to give 100 percent. This semester I was finally able to, so I jumped on the opportunity," Gorinova said. She thinks that she is the appropriate person for this job because she has been one of the PR managers of the SG this year, and is therefore more aware of what is going on.

The Spring 2010 semester is the last one for Gorinova. "As you may know, if I get elected I will be part of the SG for less than a semester so I am not going to lie and say that I will do extraordinary things, but I promise that I will do my best to contribute to the current senate into fulfilling the goal President Panici set in the beginning of the school year," Gorinova added.

Kirill Fedorov

Kirill Fedorov

Fedorov is a sophomore majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication. He is running because he wants to improve the community and feel as a part of it. To Fedorov the SG seems like a good step to reveal his capabilities and accumulate a lot of experience. He said he has got skills of a good organizer. Kirill is a sophomore and thinks he has much more time and strength to give into the team than other candidates could. If elected, Fedorov said he plans to create a better money allocation for student activities and to advance communication with administration.

Fedorov feels himself an opponent of the current SG president, Alexandru Panici. Opposition is a basis of a democratic state "so, in order to create for Alexandru Panici a competition, I offer my candidature for SG," he said.

She wants to improve the academic environment on campus and the relation between the SG and students.
