Possible Student Center designs

A group of architects will come to AUBG on Thursday to present designs for the next AUBG's construction project, the Student Center, Dean of Students Lydia Krise said. The presentation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon in the Facilities Office. Student Center will be built on Skaptopara campus next to the New Academic and library buildings.

SG Concluding Report

SG officers reflected on SG's activity throughout the 2008/2009 academic year. "As a whole, we addressed the biggest issues which came throughout the year," SG President Vasile Valcov said.

"First of all, we switched to online elections. I consider them a success. Secondly, we have a new website even though it came later in the year. Thirdly, we have depleted the SG Budget," Valcov said. "We finally established communication with [the] South-West University even though we didn't do anything meaningful except for the AIDS awareness week," he added.

"I happily want to announce that [the entire] budget is depleted," said SG Treasurer Leorand Ndoni. This year SG granted a total of $10,850 to AUBG clubs. "We spent more than expected on student life improvement because the plasma TVs alone cost 1,020 leva and the Wiis cost around 1,000 leva," he added.

"Student Representatives Selection Committee did a good job this year," SG Vice President Vaska Dimitrova said. Activities of the representatives resulted in the introduction of some new courses, abolishment and creation of majors and other changes. Dimitrova added she thinks the committee "lost some action in the second semester."

Some goals of the last year's SG presidential campaign have not been fulfilled. "We wanted to improve the relations with the alumni and I don't think we did that," Valcov said. Among other unaccomplished goals Valcov mentioned the student complaint form, and improvement of the AUBG website.
