SG quickreader:
Admission requirements task force
Students from Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and all the other countries who issue gold or silver medals in high school Olympics may apply for SAT waivers. Though this will get them admitted into the university, the students will have fewer chances to receive scholarships. Addressing the concern that the AUBG administration could guarantee eliminating any forgeries concerning the medals, SG President Alexandru Panici said there are enough checks and balances that can be directed to deal with this potential threat.
Club fair
Senator Todor Mitov updated the rest of SG on the upcoming club fair: though no exact date has been specified yet, it was decided that the two days will be dedicated to the event, one day for each Skaptopara Residence Hall. The clubs that have not been approved yet will be allowed to take part at the upcoming club fair.
WAT
The SG discussed organizing a work and travel orientation for first year students. JMC professor Phelps Hawkins suggested organizing this event, as he had been approached by many first year students with questions regarding WAT. The SG plans to invite WAT companies that operate in Blagoevgrad to organize a joint presentation for freshmen. Dean of Students Lydia Krise recommended involving Resident Assistants in the process. The SG set up a task force comprised of SG President Panici, SG Vice-President Ceprazova and senator Vicic to handle the issue.
