The More-Honors (MH) Academy award ceremony is probably AUBG's most attended event. Every video clip of this year's ceremony sent a strong message and made some people think, maybe for the first time, about their behavior. Students are probably not going to change because of this, but they will at least become aware of certain issues.

Jean Monnet Fund, used to sponsor European Studies (EUR) and Political Science (POS) courses, as well as student activities such as the Debate Open tournament, was depleted. The application for the fund was denied for the period 2008/2009, after EUR professor Jean Crombois applied for the program.

(Updated March 23, 2009) Several AUBG alumni complained about the culinary presentation of Transnistria, an unrecognized self-proclaimed state within the Republic of Moldova, during the International Taste Fest on February 21. AUBG Administration said student Maria Droganova, who led the Transnistrian cooking team, applied for funding as part of the Russian delegation.

Two years after Bulgaria's accession to the European Union (EU), AUBG still pays expatriate and local faculty differently. Nevertheless, the AUBG Compensation Committee is working on the reduction of the gap between the salaries, Provost Ann Ferren said.
