AUBG hosted the 17th Annual Job and Internship Fair on March 30 and 31. Full time job opportunities and internships were presented by the 20 participating companies, seven less than at last year's fair. "A lot of companies that we contacted chose not to participate. They didn't have any openings," Ivaylo Aksharov, events organizer and career center coordinator said.

People sometimes expect professionals who are the best in their field to exude an intimidating aura. Perhaps this is why when seeing Madeline Blais you do not immediately realize you are sitting across from a renowned book author and Pulitzer Prize winner. Blais was a reporter for The Boston Globe, The Trenton Times and Tropic Magazine of The Miami Herald and is currently a professor at University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Student Representative to the Board of Trustees (BoT) Edlira Dashi presented her report on the January 29 BoT meeting in Washington, D.C. The report addresses the educational, residence, political and cultural life on campus. "The idea of this report is to tell about things that students are actually concerned about", Dashi said. However, some points in the report need clarification.

AUBG students took part in the symbolic breaking of the Berlin Wall on November 8 at midnight on campus. The event was part of the anniversary commemoration of the fall of the Wall organized by the European Youth Movement (EYM) Club.

Arben Konedarev, Skaptopara 1 residence hall director, resigned from his position to pursue a career in law after 11 years at AUBG. A few people at the university know Konedarev outside the workplace, beyond his "Public Enemy" award at the 2008 More Honors ceremony.
